Dysplasia Epiphysealis Hemimelica-A report of 6cases

From 1972 to 1984, 6 cases of dysplasia epiphysealis-hemimelica were treated in Ji-shuitan Hospital, (male/female:5/1). The medial Side of the lower extremity is more often affected(medial/lateral:6/1). The ulnar side of the upper extremity is involved in one case, which is rarely seen clnically. Different Chinese names for this condition are reviewed but the term Dysplasia Epiphysealis Hemimelica is suggested by the authors. According to its clinical features and prognosis, we suggest to divide it into 3types:knee-joint type, peritalus type and true multiple type.
