Regularities of the influence of the temperature of spark plasma sintering on the properties of transparent YSZ ceramics

Transparent ceramics with submicron grain sizes based on cubic yttrium-stabilized ZrO 2 were obtained by the method of spark plasma sintering in the range of 1200– 1400 o C with a relatively low prepressing pressure (100 MPa). Ceramic samples showed high light transmission in the visible and near infrared regions of the spectrum. The elastoplastic properties and microstructure of ceramics are presented, the interrelation of optical and elastoplastic characteristics, as well as the microstructure are discussed. Ill. 5.
