Study of the optimal values of d/t for MSFVW delay lines

1987
The influences of d and d/t (d and t are the thickness of YIG film and dielectric layer, respectively) on the dispersive characteristics of magnetostatic forward volume wave (MSFVW) have been studied. The following results have been obtained: (1) when H=1300 Oe and d/t=0.9, the time bandwidth product (TB) of the linear‐dispersion delay line (LDDL) of MSFVW reaches the maximum. (2) The linear dispersion operation bandwidth almost does not vary with d. The (TB)max and differential delay time increase with decreasing d. When d=5 μm, (TB)max>600 μs MHz. (3) There is an optimal value of d/t for nondispersion delay line.
