Ethylmethylglyoxal bis(amidinohydrazonium) dichloride-water (1/2)

1996
The title compound, C7H18N82+.2Cl−.2H2O, has been found to exist as the anti-anti isomer, with an all-trans configuration of the bis(amidinohydrazone) chain, just like glyoxal bis(amidinohydrazone) and all its mono- and dialkylglyoxal analogues studied so far. The bis(amidinohydrazone) backbone of the dication is planar in contrast to the corresponding sulfate salt.
