This study set out to investigate the effects of body image perceptions on the depression and interpersonal relationships of dance major students, thus providing information needed to reduce their psychological tension and increase their learning efficiency. The findings led to the following conclusions: First, dance major students'' negative thoughts, physical worries and anxieties, and depressing mood had positive effects only on their self-esteem. Secondly, their social oversensitiveness had positive impacts on their body and weight control. Lack of sociality and aggression had positive impacts on their bodies, self-esteem, and weight control. In addition, interpersonal oversensitiveness had positive impacts only on their bodies. Finally, their social oversensitiveness had positive influences only on their depressing mood. Their lack of sociality, aggression, and interpersonal oversensitiveness had positive influences on their negative thoughts and physical worries and anxieties. These findings will serve as empirical data to understand how body image perceptions experienced by dance major students through dance education work on their depression and interpersonal relationships and how their depression works on their interpersonal relationships.
