Clinical Research of Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Patients Treated with DC-CIK Cell Combined with Chemotherapy

2011
Objective To evaluate the effects of Dendritic cells-Cytokine induced killer cells(DC-CIK cells) adoptive immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy and correlated the clinical factors on the prognosis of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods We retrospectively analyzed 70 previously untreated patients of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) treated with chemotherapy combined with DC-CIK and choose 70 paients at the same period as control treated only with chemotherapy. To compare the efficacy of the two group in survival analysis, the toxicity of the two group was observed and the impact on the prognosis of clinical factors was compared by Log-rank test. Results The median survival time of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) in DC-CIK treatment group was significantly longer than that in chemotherapy group(12.3 VS 3.5months),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=42.295,P=0.000).In DC-CIK treatment group, the prognosis was significantly affected by the gender, body weight loss,KPS,the number of metastasis, and the liver metastasis. Conclusion DC-CIK cell transfusion could significanty improve the survival time of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients, the efficacy and prognosis might be affected by correlated clinical factors of lung cancer patients.
