A Validated RP-HPLC Method for Simultaneous Estimation of Ramipril and Valsartan in Pharmaceutical Dosage Form.

A rapid, specific, sensitive and simple high performance liquid chromatography was developed for simultaneous estimation of Ramipril and Valsartan in capsule formulation. The separation was achieved by Thermo scientific C18 column (4.6 250 mm, particle size 5µm) with a mobile phase consisting of Acetonitrile: water (60:40 v/v, P H 3.6 adjusted with anhydrous disodium hydrogen phosphate), at a flow rate of 1.2ml/min. Detection was carried out at 235nm. Retention time of Ramipril and Valsartan were found to be 2.46 and 6.37 min, respectively. The linear dynamic range was 1-20µg/ml and 20-100µg/ml Ramipril and Valsartan respectively. The method is validated for Accuracy, Precision, Ruggedness and Robustness. The proposed method is successfully applied for the simultaneous determination of both drugs in commercial capsule preparation. The results of the analysis have been validated statistically and by recovery studies.
