On Interpreting the Folk Chinese Characters in the Novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties

The folk Chinese characters in ancient books should be correctly interpreted in order to have a full understanding of their meanings.This paper,based on some novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties,discusses the interpretation of some words with the knowledge of the folk forms of Chinese characters.While exploring the formation principle of the folk forms of Chinese characters,we can use the relevant laws to restore the original look of the texts.
