Groundwater model for an island aquifer : Bribie Island groundwater study

1983
Synopsis n Bribie Island is a large sand island with populationncentres at its southern end. The town water supply is extractednfrom the unconfined aquifer by means of a long trench excavatednbelow the water table. Demand is increasing and there is anneed for the evaluation of the water resource and the developmentnof management strategies to optimise the supply. This reportndescribes the development and calibration of a steady, regionalngroundwater model of the unconfined aquifer of southern BribienIsland. The model is used to assess the current situation andnto determine the effects of a proposed recharge scheme.nn
