Measurement of the transfer rates of muons from hydrogen to xenon and some other monoatomic elements
1967
We have observed the rates of the reaction μp+Y→μY+p where negative muons are transferred from a μp mesic atom to a monoatomic element Y mixed to gaseous hydrogen at 26 atmospheres. The elements Y added in known proportions were Xe, Ne, Ar, Kr. The results of our measurements are compared with those obtained by other authors and with theoretical predictions.
