Application of Digital Subtraction Angiography for Quantitative Estimation of Shunt Function

1993
CSF shunt systems have been widely applied in the treatment of hydrocephalus patients whose prognosis would be strictly dependent on shunt function. Although many shunt function tests have been introduced, no simple and quantitative method is available [1, 2]. In this study, the authors introduced a new method using digital subtraction angiography (DSA) as CSF shunt function test and evaluated its clinical applicability.
