Provided is an incoming call prompt method for communication devices, including: receiving incoming call information, and conveying the received incoming call information to a decoder of the communication device for decoding, storing the decoded incoming call information in a memory of the communication device; obtaining a digit group from a plurality of pre-set bits of the decoded incoming call information; editing a section of basic by a scheduled rule based on the corresponding relationship of data and phonetic symbols in a data-phonetic symbols corresponding table stored in the memory of the communication device; outputting the edited music through a voice output device of the electron device. Simultaneously provided is a communication device with the incoming call prompt facility. The invention edits a section of music based on the incoming call numbers to output for prompting users, which not only prompts user the music belongs to whom but also simultaneously allows the prompt bell tone to be more pleasant.
