A method for producing an adjustable material comprising: forming a base material in the presence of a spacer material, wherein the base material is a polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, polyvinyl one polysiloxane a polyphosphazene or a copolymer thereof, and wherein the spacer material is selected alkanoates silicon, silicone fluids, dialkanoates acrylic and dialkanoates diol C1-C18, and impregnating the base material with a modifier, wherein said modifier is capable of polymerization induced stimulus to change the power refractive changing refractive index or shape, or both.
