Santa Catarina e o BRICS: destaque para as relações com a Índia

The BRICS are an heterogeneous group of countries which exhibit an important presence in Brazil’s trade. This is mainlydue to China, but Brazilian trade has grown also with India, subject of this article, even if actual changes in participationare not registered, and just a few products account for much of the flows. In Santa Catarina trade with the BRICS meansmuch less than in Brazil as a whole, but it is growing. India’s participation has risen, yet the related imports and exportsare quite different. Searching for a new international positioning, India looks more interested in Latin America and Brazilnowadays, and this takes the form of cooperative relationships notably in science and technology.
