Holographic properties of ionic smectic glasses of thermotropic liquid crystals

Smectic glasses of ionic thermotropic liquid crystals (system based on cobalt (II) decanoate) were investigated. Holographicproperties of these systems were observed. Electronic absorption spectra of Co2 in the isotropic melt, ionic smectic mesophaseand smectic glass phase were studied as a function of temperature. On the base of small angle X-ray scattering was determinedstructure of cobalt decanoate mesophase.Keywords: thermotropic ILC, holographic recording, Co2 ions, decanoate systems, X-ray scattering.
