Gradient Based, One-Step Reconstruction for Quantitative Frequency Domain Photoacoustic Tomography

The nonlinear reconstruction problem of quantitative photoacoustic tomography (QPAT) is accomplished by either Jacobian or gradient based schemes; the latter being advantageous w.r.t. computational memory. We report for the first time a 1-step gradient based QPAT reconstruction scheme using frequency domain photoacoustic equation. Numerical results are presented for tissue-mimicking phantoms.
