Enhancement of stainless and pre-painted steel sheets' aesthetic performance by means of scratch- and fingerprint-resistant coatings

This Project deals with the enhancement of stainless and pre-painted carbon steel sheets aesthetic performance by means of mar-scratch and fingerprint resistant coatings. The overall objectives are: • to understand the nature and processes of aesthetic damage (fingerprint, mar, scratch) of stainless and conventional colour pre-painted steels and the relationship with surface structure/conditions, • to improve the appearance and resistance to aesthetic damages of stainless and pre-painted steel sheets by means of different types of special clear coatings.
