FULL SCALE TRAINING SIMULATOR FOR A LARGE COAL-FIRED ONCE-THROUGH TYPE BOILER AND POWER STATION

Abstract The training simulator for the 250 MW boiler turbo-generator units at the Electricity Trust of South Australia (ETSA) was ready for training in October 1985, and has since been put into the regular training program for ETSA power plant operators. It is a computer system which provides facilities for educating operational procedures in normal and abnormal plant conditions. In this paper the authors place main emphasis on the dynamic model applied to simulate the once-through type coal fired boiler, which is executed on a real-time basis.
