Modeling and Analyzing the Spread of Worms on Heterogeneous Networks

2012
In this study, a worm propagation model with quarantine strategy based on heterogeneous networks is presented. Using the mean field theory, the spreading dynamics of the model is analyzed and the worm spreading threshold is derived. The relationship between the spreading threshold and topology of networks, and quarantine strategy is analyzed. Theoretical results indicate quarantining infected nodes can increase the spreading threshold, resulting in effectively controlling the worm propagation.
