Radiological Examination of the Hypertensive Patient

1982
Radiology has a preeminent place in the evaluation of an hypertensive patient in order (a) to assess its consequence on the heart and the great vessels and (b) to establish the diagnosis of most secondary hypertensions. Besides the routine chest X-ray, the clinician is offered a great variety of techniques such as excretory urogram, aortography and selective arteriographies, phlebographies, various venous samplings, and non-invasive investigations such as ultrasonography, computed tomography and scientigraphies.
