Synthesis of the radiating system forming the flat-topped radiation pattern with the most flat top

2017
Depending on purpose of radar system in which it is planned to use the antenna with the flat-topped radiation pattern quite strict requirements on its electric characteristics, are imposed now such as: ripple level of top in the main lobe, the sidelobe level, the steepness of fronts of the main lobe and beam width of the radiation pattern. In work the method of pattern synthesis which allows to reduce the Gibbs phenomenon at edges of the main lobe of the radiation pattern and to produce the low sidelobe level is presented. The option of linear approximation of the set radiation pattern which allows to produce the synthesized radiation patterns with any parameters of quality is proposed. Important features of this method is that it allows to eliminate the Gibbs phenomenon and is convenient for calculation of arrays with small number of radiators.
