Equilibrium Sorption of Glucose by Surface Imprinted Organo–Inorganic Sorbents

2021
An investigation is performed for isotherms of the equilibrium sorption of glucose by surface-imprinted organic-inorganic sorbents based on 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate. It is shown that modifying the copolymer by forming imprint sites reduces the affinity of the sorption surfaces and the monolayer sorption of glucose molecules. In analyzing the match between experimental data obtained under conditions of sorption corresponding to those for the formation of imprint sites and theoretical models of sorption, it is found that introducing 6 mol % glucose molecules as a template produces homogeneous sorption surfaces. The surfaces of organo–inorganic sorbents available for the target sorbent in a liquid–solid system are determined using the Giles classification of experimental sorption isotherms and theoretical models of sorption isotherms.
