The invention discloses an engineering bacteria for catalytically producing 1,5-pentanediamine and an application thereof. The engineering bacteria is prepared by over-expressing a lysine decarboxylase gene in escherichia coli B strain or a derivative strain thereof and meanwhile properly expressing a lysine-pentanediamine reverse transport protein gene cadB. The engineering bacteria is an 1,5-pentanediamine whole-cell catalysis engineering bacteria which is prepared by over-expressing a lysine decarboxylase gene cadA in a escherichia coli B-series escherichia coli B and meanwhile properly expressing the lysine-pentanediamine reverse transport protein gene cadB. The invention further discloses a method of producing the 1,5-pentanediamine through the engineering bacteria. The method can catalytically produce the 1,5-pentanediamine at high conversion rate, high production intensity and high yield, can reduce the production cost of the 1,5-pentanediamine, can be used for large-scale production of the 1,5-pentanediamine practically and is convenient to popularize and apply.
