Eu3+ doped glass ceramics containing NaLa(MoO4)2 crystallite: Preparation, structure and luminescence properties

2020
Abstract Eu3+ doped glass ceramics containing NaLa(MoO4)2 crystallites have been successfully prepared by controlling the crystallization of the as-prepared precursor glass. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) results determine that the heat treatment at 620°C for 2 h is optimum. The glass ceramic obtained under the heat treatment condition still maintains a relatively high transmittance in the visible light region, and can reach 80% after testing. The emission intensity results determine that the optimal doping concentration of Eu3+ is 1.4%. By calculating the critical distance, it is confirmed that the concentration quenching is mainly caused by multistage interaction. The chromaticity coordinates (CIE) shows that this luminous color located at the near-red light region, indicating that Eu3+ doped glass ceramics containing NaLa(MoO4)2 crystallite may be promising as red emitting materials.
