Clinical implications of vibration-induced changes in the lumbar spine

1991
: There are strong indications that whole body vibrations are involved in the pathophysiology of different spinal aberrations known or assumed to generate back pain and sciatica. There also are several possible pathogeneses for these pathologic changes, although the proofs still are inconclusive or lacking. A better understanding of the relationships between vibration and spinal disorders in the near future will help us to prevent the occurrence of some of the problems causing pain and disability.
