The invention discloses a generator monitoring system. The system comprises at least a carbon brush length detection circuit for detecting the lengths of carbon brushes of a generator; the carbon brush length detection circuit comprises at least a Hall element arranged on a brush box, at least a carbon brush is arranged in the brush box, one carbon brush corresponds to one Hall element, magnetic steel is arranged at the preset position of each carbon brush, and the magnetic steel is dead against the Hall element; and when a preset length of the carbon brush is reached by wearing, the Hall element is used for outputting a carbon brush length detection signal by inducting the magnetic field variation of the magnetic steel, and the carbon brush length detection signal is used for identifying a signal that a carbon brush is required to be replaced because the carbon brush is too short. The system disclosed by the invention solves the technical problem that in related arts, because the lengths of carbon brushes can not be detected, when a carbon brush is worn, the operation security of a generator is affected if the carbon brush is not replaced in time.
