Characterization of solution-derived LiMn2O4 thin films heat-treated by rapid thermal annealing

2004
Abstract LiMn 2 O 4 thin films were prepared by the solution deposition followed by rapid thermal annealing using lithium acetate and manganese acetate as starting materials. The structure, morphology, discharge specific capacity and the cycling properties of the thin films were investigated as a function of annealing temperature and annealing time. The films fabricated by this technique are homogeneous, dense and crack-free. The capacity of thin films generally increases with the increase of annealing temperature and annealing time. The capacity loss per cycle is about 0.021% after being cycled 100 times for the film annealed at 800 °C for 2 min. The good electrochemical performance of the LiMn 2 O 4 thin films implies that this technique is suitable for the synthesis of LiMn 2 O 4 thin films for thin-film lithium-ion batteries.
