LEAST TRIMMED SQUARE SEBAGAI SUATU ALTERNATIF PEMBENTUKAN MODEL RANCANGAN TAGUCHI

Abstract: The least trimmed square as an alternative way to create Taguchi design . One of the best hypothesis me­thods in regression analysis is Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The weakness of OLS is that it is very sensitive with respect to the asumption deviation on the data. If  the data do not satisfy one of the regression asumptions, then  the OLS method does not efficient anymore. The exis­ted data pattern is often not homogen because there exist the outliers. Therefore, it need­s a robust estimator which is capable  to defend from the outlier(s). One of those estimators is called Least Trimmed Square (LTS). The LTS method does not throw the part of the data but finding a fit model from general data. The application of  LTS method is used on the  eco­no­mizer data, that is, one part of the  heat changer tool in the boiler from Als-tom Company. The goal of this article is to know the influence of operating cost to control factor on the out­side diameter of a tubing, transversal spacing, and fin gathering. The modeling result shows that control factor of the fin gathering does not give the significant influence for opera­ting cost. Abstrak: Least trimmed square sebagai suatu alternatif pembentukan model rancangan Taguchi . Salah satu metode untuk mengestimasi parameter dalam analisis regresi adalah metode kuadrat terkecil. Kelemahan dari metode kuadrat terkecil adalah sangat sensitif terhadap asumsi penyimpangan data. Jika data tidak memenuhi salah satu asumsi dalam analisis regresi maka metode kuadrat terkecil tidak efisien lagi. Misalnya ada data yang tidak homogen karena terdapat pencilan. Salah satu metode yang bisa digunakan adalah Least  Trimmed Square (LTS). Metode LTS tidak menghilangkan data pencilan tetapi menemukan model dugaan dari mayoritas data. Penerapan metode LTS digunakan pada data economizer , yaitu salah satu bagian dari alat penghantar panas pada boiler dari PT. Als-tom. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh biaya operasi terhadap faktor kontrol pada diameter luar tubing, universal spasing dan kerapatan fin. Model yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa faktor kontrol kerapatan fin tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap biaya operasi.
