Neighbor node intimacy (N2i) for trust management in WSN

2020
Abstract In this paper, we have introduced a simple and operative trust management strategy to identify the malicious nodes in WSNs. Towards this identification; we have proposed a new factor called as Neighbor Node Intimacy which measures the trustworthiness of nodes in WSNs. The Neighbor Node Intimacy is measured with respect to the past communication intimacy (positive and negative). Every node computes the neighbor node intimacy of its neighbor nodes and based on the obtained values they are judged wither malicious or not and then forwards packets. Extensive experiments are simulated on the proposed trust model and the efficiency is evaluated at different instance of malicious nodes count. The obtained results had proven the effectiveness of developed model at the improvisation of network lifetime as well in the provision of sufficient QoS.
