Oxide superconducting wire material and a method for manufacturing oxide superconducting wire material

2012
This oxide superconducting wire material has a tape-shaped oxide superconducting laminate which is formed by an intermediate layer being provided on a front surface side of a metal tape-shaped base material, an oxide superconducting layer being provided on the intermediate layer, and a protective layer being provided on the oxide superconducting layer, and a coating part formed of a metal tape and a low melting point metal layer. The metal tape has a width that is wider than the oxide superconducting laminate, and covers the protective layer side and both side surface sides of the oxide superconducting layer as well as both end parts on the base material back surface side in the direction of width. The both end parts of the metal tape in the direction of width are provided so as to cover both end parts on the base material back surface side. The metal tape and oxide superconducting laminate are joined by filling the low melting point metal layer in between the oxide superconducting laminate and the metal tape provided around the same. Part of the low melting point metal layer that is filled in is formed between the two end parts of the metal tape in the direction of width.
