Soft Systems Methodologies in organizational change

This paper examines Soft Systems Methodologies (SSM) and the roles they can play in guiding organizational change. The field of Critical Systems Thinking (CST) is reviewed from the standpoint of enhancing a Rich Picture Building exercise of a problematic situation within a human organization. Guidelines for the necessary organizational intervention processes are developed. The issues surrounding the organizational change required to alleviate the various problems and the related human resistance are discussed from a CST perspective.
