Panorama of the visible wavelength FEL oscillator

Abstract The current status of the Boeing Aerospace Company and Spectra Technology, Inc. rf linac-driven 0.5 μm FEL oscillator is reported. The final installation of this FEL oscillator is nearly completed as of this writing (September 1986). The purpose of this experiment is to demonstrate that high extraction and short wavelength operation are simultaneously achievable.
