A Facile and Mild DE-tert-Butylation Reation

Abstract A facile method for de-tert-butylation of phenols under mild conditions is described. Careful choice of reaction conditions enables selective ortho de-butylation to occur. The method can be extended to de-tert-butylation of a simple alkyl quinol ether.
