Neutral injection heating into the Fontenay-aux-Roses Tokamak (TFR)

1973
From 3rd international symposium on toroidal plasma confinement; Garching, Germany (26 Mar 1973). The goal of this heating experiment now under construction is to change significantly the ion and electron temperatures, i.e., to reach the keV range and to explore the banana'' regime. The calculations show that a power of a few hundred kilowatts ( approx equal 300 kW) must be injected into the plasma for 200 ms. This will be achieved by two sets of five neutral-beam injectors of the Oak Ridge type, injecting along two lines close to the perpendicular and diametrically opposite. (GE)
