Opportunities of the Polarized Light Modulation for Astronomic Polarimeters Using

There are described the main ways of the light modulation in polarized components for astronomical polarimeters obtaining. Attention is focused on the construction of polarizing hollow-rotor modulators. The possibility of a new multifunctional polarization modulator creating for astronomical research based on a piezoelectric motor with a hollow rotor is shown. The tests carried out allowed to put forward the idea of improving the new polarization modulator developed by authors. The proper results were achieved by replacing the piezoelectric motor with a new generation PM-1124R-E piezoelectric motor of the RBS series. It fully meets the requirements for modulators used in astronomical polarimetry.
