Design of universal motion equations of cam mechanism

An universal motion curve model that the non-dimension acceleration curve of follower of cam mechanism is taken as basic curve and divided into nine time intervals,of which six intervals are acceleration-varying intervals and can be expressed by monotone shape functions.The conjugate shape function concept is proposed based on comprehensive research of shape function curve.After that,by analyzing the synthesis among motion curves at each interval in the model,a continuous and smooth acceleration synthesis curve can be obtained,and the universal motion curve equation of each interval can be solved,satisfying the request of high speed cam mechanism design.By using the model in this paper,the designer can not only control the shape of entire curve by changing time value of intervals,but also change partial shape of the curve by choosing different types of shape functions for each interval.
