Design and Implementation of M2M-Smart Home Based on Arduino-UNO

In wired and wireless technologies, the machine-to-machine (M2M) communication technologies have a significant need. In this paper, we present M2M in the “Smart Home”, one of the most popular usages of M2M. The topic in this research deals with the design and implementation of M2M in the smart-home to provide everybody with the ability to control the house automatically remotely. Our approach proposes a home automation system based on the Arduino UNO/Android platform, where Arduino UNO represents the brain. One of the most important results of this work is creating a smart house that accomplishes several tasks and features like alarm system, automatic door, lighting, gas and fire detection, and temperature acquisition. A simple smartphone remotely controls these functions through our mobile application,” Smart home for all.” The application is based on 2G/3G/4G/Bluetooth technologies. The proposed solution allows controlling the house, ensuring safety and comfort, by using efficacy and cheap sensors (MQ2, LM35, etc.) and shields (Bluetooth HC-06).
