Military ship’s subdivision optimization for reinforcement of anti-wind capacity after damage

2015
A good way of enhancing the survivability of military ships is main hull subdivision optimization design aiming to improve anti-wind capacity after damage. Begin with the watertight subdivision, this paper puts forward a method of the transverse watertight bulkhead position optimization design for improving anti-wind capacity (rated wind velocity) after damage. Taking the most serious three-compartment damage situation into consideration, transverse watertight bulkhead positions serving as design variable, the optimization model with objective function of “Average Anti-wind Capacity” after damage is established, and genetic algorithm is used to get the optimal solution. The effectiveness of the method is confirmed by a calculation example of one frigate.
