Correlation between vascular endothelial growth factor-a serum with clinical stage, histopathologic grading and estrogen receptor status breast cancer patient in Makassar

2021
Objective: Breast cancer ranks first as the leading cause of female mortality, with an estimated 100,000 person each year. One of the pathogenesis ways of breast cancer is angiogenesis, which is characterized by overexpression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Methods: This research was conducted involving 42 patients with breast cancer who had no history of other illnesses. In this study, the serum is used to determine blood levels of VEGF in a quantitative and in-depth interview. Result: The results of examining serum VEGF ELISA's lowest value obtained were 34.1 pg/ml while the highest value was 3028.2 pg/ml. Of the 42 samples studied showed that the value of serum VEGF cut of point just below the EBC as much as 11.9% and 33.3% whereas LABC cut of point just above the LABC and MBC respectively 59.5% and 28.6 % with p
