Coupling Current Simulation: Closed Cables under Electric Field Simulator for Near Strike Lightning

The electromagnetic interference caused by nearby lightning strikes poses a real threat to the electronic systems. This paper analyzed the coupling current of closed cables in lightning electromagnetic environment using CST, and the experimental validation was carried out with the electric field simulator for near strike lightning. The results showed that the magnitude of the coupling current was proportional to the change rate of the electric field, and for a rectangular closed cable with a size of 40×115 cm, the coupling current under simulator can reach to several amperes.
