The invention discloses a silica micropowder-containing latex coating and a preparation method thereof. The silica micropowder-containing latex coating comprises the components in parts by weight: 80-100 parts of an emulsion, 0-25 parts of titanium dioxide, 20-50 parts of a modified silica micropowder, 100-200 parts of water, 1.0-1.5 parts of a dispersant, 0.2-0.4 part of a defoaming agent, 0.1-0.3 part of a mildew preventive, 0-0.2 part of a flatting agent, and 0.1-0.3 part of a film-forming auxiliary agent; the modified silica micropowder is a product obtained by successively carrying out acid modification, aminating agent modification, coupling agent A modification and coupling agent B modification of a silica micro-powder. The silica micropowder is adopted as a filling material in the latex coating for use and replaces commonly used titanium dioxide and commonly used lithopone, so that the high-performance latex coating is obtained, and at the same time, the production cost can be reduced. The preparation method is simple and efficient, and can obtain the high-performance latex coating, saves the production cost, and expands the usage scope of the latex coating.
