We seek to highlight the conceptions, beliefs and myths of a group of teachers participating in an extension course on Mathematics and its teaching. It is a qualitative research of an interpretive nature, in which questionnaires were used to collect the data. The data show that the discussions about the conceptions, beliefs and myths and their implications in the classroom is very important in the teacher education process, because it makes possible a reflection on the teaching of Mathematics in current times, and the possible reasons that do not allow an evolution in the teaching and learning processes.
