Application of the machine vision system “GRANICS-PELLETS” for grain-size analysis of green ore pellets

The paper devoted to the development and validation of the system for the grain size analysis of green ore pellets. The system’s design and principle of operation are given. The validation of the system accuracy was carried out at several mining and processing plants with different pelletization technology. The average absolute error in determining the mass median diameter of pellets does not exceed 4.32%, and the error in estimating of the major class is about 7.5% in comparison with manual laboratory screening.
