C. I. Acid Yellow 23 was synthesized from p-aminobenzenesulfonic diazo salt and acetylsuccinic acid dimethyl ester by coupling reaction, decarboxylation, cyclization, second coupling reaction and hydrolyzation. The dye purity was 99%, the content was above 90%, the solubility in water was 200 g/L and the application performances were good. ”The three wastes” were reduced by nanofiltration membrane separation technology and the spray drying.
