Quality of Life Assessment in Patients with Hip Arthroplasty

2015
This research approaches a new topic in the medical field, particularly in hip endoprosthetic surgery. It focuses on a complex analysis of quality of life indicators in patients with endoprosthesis. Within this research, studies were conducted on significant series of patients, using functional operated hip assessment scales combined with new evaluation criteria. These criteria do not consider directly the strict element of operated hip “functionality” in classic terms (pain, ROM), but mainly other parameters. Questions corresponding to these parameters (items) explore new domains that assess the wellbeing of patients, thus conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the terms characterizing quality of life in general.
