Project management and use of research results is a topic of interest to academy and policymakers. Fiocruz's Office of Projects (FOP) was created to support the technical cooperation projects in line with the guidelines of Brazil's Health System. The objective is to present the theoretical and methodological bases and first findings of performance evaluation of the FOP and use of the knowledge produced. As methodological approach, it was used the Network Actor Theory once it allows the disclosure interests, interactions and mediations in the production of the scientific facts from the projects. The case study was adopted with different levels of analysis, being the FOP evaluated concerning project and knowledge management. The use of mixed methods of research, with quantitative and qualitative steps, will guide the collection and analysis of data. The first results refer to the construction of the logical model, discussing the problem situation and indicating the components. The construction of micro and macro networks aimed at identifying the connections with sectors or institutions. With the systematic mapping was formulated the criteria and indicators of performance. Was identified advances in the understanding of the role of the FOP, the actors involved and the evidence of good practices that can guide the management model.
