Parameter studies of peak temperature rise for LMFBR blanket rod bundles
1982
Abstract The peak temperature rise results obtained from sodium tests of a full sized, electrically heated simulated blanket rod bundle were related to operating parameters. They were found to be related to geometry, heat input gradient, coolant flow rate at constant power-to-flow ratio, and mode of circulation (forced or natural). At any fixed power-to-flow ratio, the peak temperature rise was shown to reach a maximum value at fully turbulent flow and forced convection.
