A Continuous-wave Terahertz Self-heterodyne Spectroscopy System without Using Short-carrier-lifetime Photoconductors

2021
We present a continuous-wave terahertz self-heterodyne spectroscopy system, which is realized using plasmonics-enhanced sources and detectors with ultrafast carrier transport. With a 67 dB signal-to-noise ratio and a detection bandwidth more than 1.5 THz, this is the very first terahertz self-heterodyne spectroscopy system without utilizing short-carrier-lifetime photoconductors.
