Study of marketing channels of potato producers in Ardebil province

The goals of this study is to investigate potato marketing channels in Ardebil province. The data of this research to 2014-2015 crop year, which was collected by special questionnaires from 198 potato producers in all regions of Ardabil province through direct interviews. The results indicate that potato producers have used 6 main channels and 5 dual channels. Stepwise method multiple discriminant analysis was used to determine the effective factors on the selection of marketing channels. Sales price was the most effective factor in selecting the type of marketing channel. The average selling price of 4850 Rials, the lowest and the highest prices, respectively, were for intermediaries with 4480 Rials and exports of 950 Rials per kilogram. Sales to intermediaries with 71.66% of the total amount of sales were most and exports with 0.27% of the lowest sales.
