La crisis de sustentabilidad de las prácticas urbanísticas: la ciudad pensada y la ciudad real

2013
The city and the urban show the effects of territorial transformation, result of the global economy, contradictions between logics of physical territorial permanence and financial volatility, between discourse and city conception (“meant city” and “planned city”) and the reality of production and development of the urban ("real city"). It is necessary to revise the relationship between building and city, between architecture (released from formalist obsessions and speculative positions) and urbanism (released from quantitative and regulatory visions). From This, the aim of the presentation is to discuss urban-territorial transformations that occur at present and its effects as the urban crisis, based on the discussion of approaches to sustainability and the urban and its comparison with paradigmatic cases in the local and regional levels. VII Congreso de Medio Ambiente /AUGM 2 The paradigm of diffuse city evidences that, beyond the speech, the design involved a piecemeal way, with operations concentrated in detached themselves from their links to the totality, following territorial profitability logics without worrying about the effects and their causes in the urban structure and the territory. Heritage values of public space and urban fabric are gone, although a certain speech continues to mention it in relation to areas to revitalize and "gentrify" as a set of prestige. The dissolution of the spaces of collective social life (street, square, open space system, galleries) involves the disappearance of public space in the new urban territory. It is not explicitly planned in new urban projects, it is trivialized in the traditional areas and is absent in the peripheral diffused agglomerations or reduced to specialized commercial areas. Faced with this crisis, its way the idea of recovering the human dimension of the urban, generating conceptual, methodological and management processes that enable production and control of urban, in a participatory and democratic manner.
